01Our commitment

We aim to follow the WCAG 2.1 guidelines at level AA, the international reference for web accessibility, in line with Brazil's Inclusion Act (Law 13.146/2015). We treat accessibility as part of building the site, not as an afterthought.

02What is already in place

• A "skip to content" shortcut at the start of every page, for those navigating by keyboard
• Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on links and buttons
• Semantic structure, with a heading hierarchy and page landmarks that help screen readers
• Alternative text on images that carry information, and decorative images marked as such
• Colour contrast checked between text and background
• Respect for the system preference for reduced motion: those who enable it get the pages without the movement, including in the interactive sections
• Background videos start without sound and can be muted at any time through a dedicated button
• A responsive layout that works on small screens and supports text zoom
• The site available in Portuguese and English, with the language declared in each page's code

03Limitations we know about

We would rather be transparent about what is not ready yet.

• Embedded YouTube videos follow that service's player, whose controls and accessibility are outside our control
• Some videos do not yet have captions or audio description
• The interactive section on the Fishing page is a visual illustration of the tidal effect; the information it conveys is also described in text on the same page
• Some third-party documents and materials may not meet the same criteria

04Ran into a barrier?

If any part of the site makes it harder for you to reach the information, we want to know. Write to our email or message us on WhatsApp, describing the page and what happened. If you can, tell us which browser or assistive technology you use, because that speeds up the fix considerably.

We commit to replying and, where a fix is possible, to treating it as a priority. In the meantime, we will provide the information through another channel, whether by phone, WhatsApp or email.

This site is new and still evolving. We review accessibility with each page we publish and update this statement as we go.
